STREAMWARE LAUNCHES “TEST DRIVE” PROGRAM TO IMPROVE VEND OPERATORS PROFITABILITY AND LET THEM TRY BEFORE THEY BUY VENDMAX SOFTWARE

-- Operators Can Implement Full Streamware Model on One Route At Lowest Possible Cost--

Norwood, MA, February 21, 2007  -- Crane Streamware, a Crane Co. Company, has launched “Streamware Test Drive.” The company is so certain the program will significantly drive operators’ profitability through improved processes that it is providing a money-back guarantee. The innovative Test Drive program lets operators install VendMAX software and implement pre-kitting on one route with virtually no financial risk. The three-month “try before you buy” program guarantees agreed-upon results for the operator—such as Return on Investment, greater profitability, or increased sales. If Streamware doesn’t meet the results the operator is freed from obligation. If Streamware delivers the agreed-upon results, VendMAX is implemented throughout the operator’s remaining routes.

Test Drive was piloted at several vending companies in 2006. The first to complete the 90-day trial was Imperial Vending of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Imperial and Streamware’s agreed-upon result was a time savings of 60 minutes per day. Before the Test Drive began, the route driver was spending an average of 14.8 minutes to service each machine. At the end of the Test Drive, the average service time had dropped to 11.4 minutes per machine, for a total average daily savings of 85 minutes—25 minutes more than the goal.

Imperial President Paul Tims said the Test Drive proved to him that “the Streamware vending model works. By pre-kitting the route my driver simply drove up to each account and brought in the required inventory—just one visit instead of two.  The time savings was incredible and that translates into dollar savings. I was sold on the productivity and profitability benefits and we’re now installing VendMAX across our 100 routes,” said Tims.

Tims also noted that Imperial benefited from VendMAX’s DEX cash audit. “Before, we were using meter to money for route auditing purposes,” observed Tims.  “We now get exactly how much in dollars and how much in change should be with each serve.  It takes the changer flux out of the equation which translates into tighter cash accountability.”

Damien Moroney, Streamware’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said Test Drive answers three questions operators always asked his sales team. “Investing in new software can be daunting,” said Moroney. “Prospective clients always want to know 1) How can I be sure VendMAX will improve my business?; 2) How can I justify the cost of new software?; and 3) What can Streamware offer me that I don’t already have?  Test Drive answers all of these questions, removing the fear factor from the equation.  It allows operators to see first-hand the benefits of pre-kitting, while exposing them to other VendMAX features such as DEX cash accountability and forecasting,” said Moroney.

Test Drive Basics
Streamware designed Test Drive to address the unique business needs of each operator, but the general program outline is consistent from company to company:

  • The operator selects just one DEX-compatible route to try out VendMAX
  • He/she commits $16,000 to take that route for a 90-day Test Drive
  • Streamware guarantees agreed-upon results regarding ROI, productivity improvements, or sales increases. If the results are not reached at the end of the Test Drive period, the operator gets $10,000 back and can walk away from the program. If results are delivered, the operator commits to installing VendMAX company-wide

Moroney said the results of the Imperial Test Drive encouraged Streamware to take the program public.  “We learned a lot during the pilot and have applied those learnings to the full Test Drive program,” he noted. “We’re pleased with Imperial Vending’s strong one-route improvements and look forward to introducing other operators to the benefits of Streamware’s advanced technology for enhancing business productivity and profitability.”
