CRANE STREAMWARE TO DEBUT VENDMAX/DELIVERYMAX 4.1 AT NAMA IN ATLANTA
New Release Boasts Major enhancements to VendMAX Dynamic, VendMAX Remote, and DeliveryMAX
NAMA Booth 933
Norwood, MA, September 13, 2005 - - Crane Streamware, a Crane Co. Company, will debut VendMAX/DeliveryMAX 4.1 at the national NAMA convention in Atlanta. Release 4.1 includes improvements to both the software and the handheld with significant enhancements to VendMAX Remote and Dynamic Scheduling-two separate but related capabilities that improve efficiencies and productivity. There are also significant enhancements for OCS and bottled water operators to help with pre-ordering and tele-sales.
VendMAX Remote
The VendMAX 4.1 Remote module improves truck-loading or pre-kitting accuracy by using exact sales data rather than estimates to monitor machines. With VendMAX's open architecture, operators can use any wireless or hard-wired (phone or Ethernet) network to remotely enable their machines.
Glenn Butler, Crane Streamware's Chief Technology Officer, said remote monitoring "allows operators to optimize scheduling and merchandizing by alerting them to sell-out conditions; its particularly useful for operators with distant locations that are costly to service. For all accounts, remote monitoring allows operators to provide better service." Streamware is currently working with Protel, Cantaloupe, and USA Technologies as third-party providers, but will work with any provider its customers select.
VendMAX Dynamic
The new dynamic scheduling module automates one of the most critical decisions in vending operations-when to schedule a visit. Operators can use VendMAX Dynamic to schedule some or all of their machines on an Open schedule (any day) or based on their current set schedule. VendMAX Dynamic schedules machines based on a range of parameters, such as number of sell-outs, percent depletion, amount of money in the machine, and the number of days since the last service.
Butler noted that VendMAX Dynamic works with both DEX and non-DEX machines. "Our forecasting algorithms help operators tune their scheduling with or without DEX and Remote Monitoring. Some operators continue to rely on the data collected via a handheld the last time the machine was serviced - it works either way," said Butler.
Dynamic scheduling has a number of key benefits. "Many operators don't have the time to optimize their routes and schedules." said Butler. "With VendMAX Dynamic, operators can eliminate wasted trips and add to the amount of accounts they service in a week. They can begin pre-kitting, which allows them to accurately set up their deliveries the day before. And with gas prices sky-high, reducing trips is a great way to cut expenses. Operators using the system have been able to eliminate one route out of every five - a major cost savings."
Handheld Improvements
Streamware's handhelds have always performed well in the field; VendMAX 4.1 enhancements enable automatic backups and faster synching times. A new feature allows the handheld to automatically try synching under poor network conditions until it gets a connection. If the handheld is unable to reliably connect, it will keep trying until one is achieved.
DeliveryMAX Improvements
Streamware engineers incorporated several customer-initiated features into DeliveryMAX 4.1. A new Price List Report feature allows operators to easily identify what prices are in effect for any customer. The Price List Report can also be used when selling a new account to present prices to prospects. The handheld now allows a route salesperson to deliver products and take a "pre-sale" for the next delivery. This solution is perfect for operators that carry 2000 plus SKU's and need to use a handheld to manage truck inventories.
The handheld has also been enhanced to show previous ordering history, all payment history, and open invoices so the route salesperson can accept and require payment before a delivery. Cash, checks, and credit card payment can be accepted on the handheld and applied to any open invoices.
VendMAX/DeliveryMAX 4.1 will be demo'd at NAMA and are currently available for purchase through Crane Streamware. Visit www.streamware.com.
