CRANE STREAMWARE RELEASES SUITE OF ROUTE PRODUCTIVITY TOOLS
VendMAX 4.20 Includes Bundled Tools for Pre-Kitting, Remote Monitoring, and Dynamic Scheduling
Norwood, MA, September 13, 2006 - - Crane Streamware, a Crane Co. Company, has released VendMAX 4.20 featuring a bundled suite of its most in-demand route productivity tools. The new suite includes tools to help operators improve their delivery system and decrease operating costs—pre-kitting, remote monitoring, and dynamic scheduling.
“Vend operators are seeing their operating ratios decline each year with few options for increasing profitability,” said Streamware Vice President Damien Moroney. “One of their options is to get rid of vending’s outdated, inefficient delivery system that robs them of profitability and move towards a new model. VendMAX from Streamware gives operators that new model. By bundling three route productivity tools in the newest VendMAX release, we’ve made it simpler for operators to implement profit-improving systems.”
Maroney said that by implementing the Streamware vending model clients have cut two to three hours per driver per day from each route. “Operators can then decide to either add more business without adding drivers or take one in four trucks off the road. Either way, their productivity and profitability improve.”
The VendMAX 4.20 Route Profitability Suite includes:
Dynamic Scheduling
VendMAX Dynamic automates one of the most critical decisions in vending operations—when to schedule a visit. This route productivity tool schedules machines based on a range of parameters, such as number of sell-outs, percent depletion, amount of money in the machine, and the number of days since the last service. With dynamic scheduling in place operators can begin pre-kitting—the heart of the new vending model.
Pre-Kitting
Pioneered by Streamware, pre-kitting changes the vending delivery model by eliminating the need for a driver to pre-visit machines and return to the truck to pick product. Lower-wage warehouse employees pre-pack orders based on the VendMAX machine sales forecast. Drivers take bins to the machines and service them as needed, cutting, on average, two hours from their day.
Remote Monitoring
With VendMAX Remote, operators can use any wireless or hard-wired network to remotely enable their machines, allowing them to optimize scheduling and merchandizing. Remote monitoring is particularly useful for operators with distant locations that are costly to service.
