CRANE MERCHANDISING SYSTEMS ACQUIRES SOFTWARE RIGHTS, EMPLOYEES, AND CLIENT BASE OF INONE TECHNOLOGY
Bridgeton, MO, December 5, 2005 - - Crane Merchandising Systems (CMS), a Crane Co. company, has acquired the software rights, employees, and customer base of inOne Technology's software division. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Streamware, a CMS business unit, will assume responsibility for the inOne software products-Navigator and EMS-and will continue to maintain those products for their new customers for the foreseeable future. InOne's nine software division employees will become Streamware employees.
With 200 vend operator clients and tens of thousands of machines in its installed customer base, Streamware is firmly established as the leading provider of vending management software and solutions. Streamware's flagship products are VendMAX and DeliveryMAX. The company also operates InfoVend, the vending channel's market research service.
According to CMS President Brad Ellis, "This acquisition confirms CMS's focus on advanced technology in all segments of our business. When Crane acquired Streamware in 2000 we said the company would be the 'building block' in our strategy to meet the demand for more sophisticated vending and merchandising systems. Today, Crane provides a full complement of technology solutions, from equipment and payment systems to software, to help our clients become more productive and more profitable."
Streamware General Manager Paul McGarry said the acquisition of inOne's employees and customer base would allow Streamware to accelerate its new product development initiatives. "We are virtually doubling the size of our company overnight," said McGarry. "We will invest those additional resources in products and services that improve our clients' productivity and profitability."
McGarry stressed that Streamware will work with the former inOne customers to support their software systems or, if desired, to transition them to VendMAX. "We want to reassure our new clients that there will be continuity throughout this process. The sales and support staff they know and trust will continue to serve them; their products will be supported; and their business needs will be respected," concluded McGarry.
